I originally started this in October 2024 for one of the De-stash-along prompts, but put in hibernation more than once to complete other projects. Finally finished it March 1, 2025. Yay!
It’s the Summit Shawl which I found free through Ravelry.
I used a long ago discontinued yarn called Malizia from Mondial. It’s a tube type of yarn recommended for making those “fluffy” gathered style scarves that were popular several years ago. I unraveled it into 3 separate strands of black cobweb weight mohair blend and 1 strand of novelty yarn (not used in this project).
Thank you so much. I was intimidated at first by the pattern, but got the hang of it eventually. It has some techniques that I was unfamiliar with before starting.

So elegant! Congrats on finishing!
I can’t believe you undid that yarn…now I am going to have to go through my old, old stash to see if I still have some of that!
Oh, it was tedious, but what else am I going to do with it. And I have so much of it from different manufacturers. (Shaking fist at memory of Tuesday Morning clearance section)
I would have never guessed how it came together just by looking at the pics on the pattern. And when I was casting on, I thought “there is no way this can be correct”. The pattern designer has a lot of talent and vision for sure.
Thank you, all, for the sweet compliments on my project. I love this little corner of the interwebs where I can express my creativity in such a positive environment.
WOW! It looks amazing and also super difficult. It makes me happy to read that you started it over a year ago and finished it. It gives me hope that someday my projects will be finished😅
I have several WIP’s waiting to be finished, but I just try to pick them up a little each month and do something on them. Try to keep my new projects to short term with quick completion so I don’t end up adding to my issue. I get bored easily with something if it takes too long to finish.
Ugh, same. That’s a good idea to work on a WIP a little at a time. I was thinking that the next time I worked on it I had to finish it. I have a new approach to my WIPs!
