I mid-way through this year’s blackberry bonanza and am loving making blackberry lemonade concentrate, so I’ve added that recipe up above too. Yum!
We go to Oregon every summer, but it’s usually in early to mid June, so the blackberries are not ripe at that time. In 2023 we went at the end of June/ beginning of July. We got lucky that year. Lots of delicious berries to pick at our rental house. I froze a bunch in a ziplock bag and brought them home in my luggage. Looking forward to having them every year when my husband retires and we permanently move up there.

My son has always been berry crazy and I remember once when he was younger he asked for blackberries while we were grocery shopping in August. They were like $6 for a half pint and I said no, but we could go picking. We came home with something like 2 gallons for free!

What a great idea for the lemonade concentrate! It sounds delicious and would be so easy to pack for a trip and then make the lemonade when you get there (currently packing for a road trip and I’m completely overwhelmed with all the things.)
