Blue Butterfly coat

Welp, it got done. I’m quite happy with it, minus a few bits and bobs (not super thrilled with the clasps, but they’re on there now, so fait accompli hahaha) I will try to have someone take a pic while I’m wearing it, because it is def hard to see what it looks like just on the betty.

It’s very pretty, I’m sure it looks wonderful on. Fun you call your Judy “Betty”. I wonder if dress forms have different names all over the world, they must!

I need more info. This coat is amazing! Did you applique the butterflies and flowers on? I zoomed and it looks like some of the butterflies are dimensional, which is super cool. The entire coat is stunning!

The flowers were applique patches (i think five smaller ones, a larger one in the middle back which was blue and silver until I took a marker and coloured the silver green to match). Those were just handsewn on, as were the butterflies. The butterflies are organza, and are 3D! they have two pair of wings stacked on each other, glued together with two rhinestones in the middle. I folded a couple of them so they looked like you are looking at them profile-wise, and all are tacked on by hand as well.

ETA: thank you everyone for the hype <3
