Hey crafty peeps! I’m finally back with another post, shock horror and even though I haven’t been sewing clothes much, apparently I’ve got a lot to catch up on, so we shall start back in July 2023…
Soooo, I’m a sucker for any kind of plaid, and as you can tell from my hair here, I’m a big fan of turquoise aqua colours, so I had to have this amazing fabric!! Speaking of, I do need to get in some more dye actually so I can cover up the white hairs with turquoise as I’m almost natural atm, cripes!
Originally I planned to make more slim legged trousers, but tbh the older I get the more I’m all about comfort, so I decided to go for some nice loose wide leg troosers! I was umming and ahhing about what pattern to use, and then handily Itch to Stitch released a new trouser pattern that was exactly what I was after - the Icaria Trousers.
I’m always a bit hesitant to try new trouser patterns purely because I’m kinda sausage shaped and have no hips, so I’ve used quite a few patterns that make me look like I’m wearing puffy jodhpurs, but thankfully this one I didn’t have to adjust at all, yey! Though I will say that I’ve found out quite how short my legs are (not entirely surprising as I knew I had a long body), because despite being taller than average I cut out the fabric for 3/4 length trousers and they’re pretty much full length on me, ha ha ha.
@susieoregon Oh absolutely, gone are my days of wearing clothes with no stretch or elastic, it’s comfort all the way!!
@AIMR Thaaaanks, I have at least another 5 things to post (wrap top, fishnet dress, matching pup and mum clothes, peacock swimsuit, and greyhound pjs!) until I’m caught up I think. I’m not sure what’s next on the cards to sew, maybe some gym bits, pjs troosers, else I’m getting pretty desperate for bras so I need to make some of those asap!
@Tapestry Atlas and Arwen say wooooooof invariably one or both of them always ends up in my posts!
@Cindy Thanks Cindy, I hope I keep it up! I need to do some browsing on here to see what I’ve missed lately
Heyyyy! I was thinking about you the other day and like magic, here you are!!
I love those pants! I’m all about comfort these days as well. Gaining a lot of weight due to my illness (and poor life choices ) and recently realized that I need to replace about 80% of my wardrobe!!! Those pants are AWESOME!
So glad to see your dog butts back here! Oh, and you of course. Your trousers tick some great me boxes: plaid, turquoise, comfy and it’s great for you to have found a good pattern!
You look pretty! Love your hair color and the gray and blue plaid. The pants look great on you and so do the tops. You look casually elegant! TFS your project.
