Oh those would be cute! I think a pair of tiny rubber duckies and tiny rubber chickens would make any wardrobe accessorizing fun!
Wow! This is some awesome stuff!! Nice save on the test tube rack and a second box of treats- how cool! Those rubber chickens! And the cameos!!
The music box is such a neat find! And the little satyr -omygoodness- and I need to look into those little paintable things, too!
They’re miniatures for playing tabletop games (like D&D). They come in a variety of sizes depending on the creature it’s portraying. The satyr and dryad are ‘medium-creature’ size which is usually about an inch and some change tall.
I hadn’t used this line of minis before but I was happy with how the satyr came out and they all came pre-primed which was nice cause you didn’t have to do the primer-coat step.
I received from @thanate
First up, this lovely ceramic mushroom.
And an adorable tiny treasure map
On to the whimsies
So many fun little things. Some of my particular favorites are the little jointed paper animals, the skeleton cameo, and the cabochon eyes.
And a bonus pic, I decided to put the mushroom on the windowsill in my kitchen with my kitchen squirrel (he’s an oven rack puller/pusher).
That treasure map is so cool. I love that it is stitched
After seeing everybody’s collections, I guess I misunderstood the guidelines.
I saw the picture and got the idea that I was supposed to make a display in a small box. Seems like everyone else filled a big box. Well, I kind of did, too, but I felt guilty for cheating.
BUT BUT BUT I loved it!!! It was perfect to me!
I adore your interpretation!
Thanks for the reassurance!
The mushroom and the treasure map are so cool!
You didn’t “cheat” my dear. You offered a creative interpretation but (I had to scroll back up to see your gift) it looks exactly perfect to me. ![]()
It’s my fault @steiconi for choosing that picture! I think you had the spirit of the swap and your partner appears to be thrilled! So all is well!
@thanate you sent some awesome goodies! Is that a pressed flower on your box? The map is awesome and you sent some really fun little goodies! That tiny potions book is on my list of faves and the face …button? …Bead? And all of those eyes!
I was raised Catholic. Guilt and pleasure are closely linked.
It’s a great picture, made me want to join the swap.
I even went to the old whimsies swap galleries, but told myself “oh, we’re doing display boxes, not piles o’ stuff.” I can be really quite dense. Or focused on my own ideas, or all up in my own head or something.
Love that mini treasure map!!!
The potions book is a printable from etsy (I got a couple barbie scale things a while back when my kid was into both 11" dolls and spellbooks) tho I added end papers since I felt like the original design had the pagination wrong. (I think this is the listing)… and the face is a cabochon from the last time I was in the clay studio-- I did a bunch from one of the craft store silicone molds designed for sculpey.
The flower is in fact a real pressed flower, but I got it as a pre-made sticker from happy mail via another site; it was sitting on my coffee table & just seemed like the right addition to the box. ![]()
…I am sort of avoiding looking up the wizkids miniatures site because I know I’ll want all the things. ![]()
I’m sure I’ll want them all, too!
