Bread Tote

One of my goddaughters has started a side hustle of making and selling homemade pasta and sour dough breads. When she delivered my order (yes, I bought 4 loaves!), I saw that she had them wrapped and placed in a regular old plastic shopping bag.

The bread was a bit chewy because of the moisture when she wrapped them in freezer paper instead of parchment paper and used the plastic bag. She asked for feedback so I gave her this information. She is now using the parchment paper and cloth bags.

To help her as her business grows, I decided to make her a few bags to use. This is the first one.

Made from two linen tea towel calendars that my sister had given me, unused. I used the calendar part to make the handles.

I know she loves vintage things and handmade things so I am using some more old linens to make her more when I get a chance.

A super repurpose project! I love things made from vintage linens and this calendar’s print couldn’t be more perfect for its purpose.

She is a working musician and does all sorts of other jobs to make money so she can keep on singing. She and I have clicked since she was born. She helps me with spring cleaning as well as brings me bread and pasta (which I pay for with the “family” discount  ). A joy to be around, so I can’t wait until this weekend to give it to her (plus, she lives near the river so it gives me an excuse to get out into nature for a bit!).
