I watched a tutorial for using paper strips to make backgrounds and decided to give it a try with black and white papers. I couldn’t just let them sit in a drawer, so I decided to see about making a set of cards. That lead me to digging through my dies to add some details and pulling a pad of printed cardstock and deciding to use only papers from that to make bases. FUN!
I haven’t (yet?) added sentiments to the insides, but I think this one might have something about “when life gives you lemons.”
I didn’t come up with a saying or word for the front of this one, at least not from my die stash. In my head I call this one “there are no words.”
I was stoked to finally get to make the light bulb and thought the warm glow of the yellow, metallic vellum was a fun option for that. Of course, the saying needed sparkly letters.
When I set out, I thought I’d be making simple, graphical dies cuts to add, but… well, I couldn’t help myself once I saw the tiny cocktail dies on this background. So I cut 'em and filled them. The cosmo has a sugar rim and the margarita has a salted rim (2 different white/clear glitters).
I’m not sure if I will keep these or find a way to pass along the set. As I type this, I’m considering making an envelope to fit the set into.
UPDATE: I did go ahead an make an envelope that the whole set will fit into using printed cardstock from the same pad as the bases in the cards.
