Bubble tie dye... sort of?

Inspired by @Tapestry and her ink and paint bubbles I thought to see if I could do something with fabric , dye and bubbles

And I can.

I used some procion dyes (even some I had mixed up, like 18 months or more ago) added a couple of “glugs” of dollar store bubble solution and just… Played .

I have a shaker with some straight black dye powder to sprinkle on top cause I LOVE a cracked black look.
Kiddo came out to play as well and learned a lesson that with the black, less is more

It was SUPER windy and that made some unpredictable splatters over each other’s work that in the end. Just added to the fun.

Then we wrapped em up, and let them sit overnight.

After a solid rinse and a wash they went out to dry

I’m a messy dyer… I was COVERED in multi coloured freckles… And one perfect popped bubble

These came out so cool!! I love the unusual application method. I’d never think to try this and love that you did! So fun and unexpected. I think that perfect bubble would make a great tattoo.

I think I’m gonna cut them all up and make a quilt out of it. Since the colours all go together.

I love the idea of a quilt from it but I’d have a hard time cutting that center one- it looks like a dog blowing/popping a bubble!
