Buggy Bookmarks

I am always looking for fun ways to use up felt. When this project showed up in the Making Zen 2026 event, I really wanted to make it.

They are corner bookmarks that you embroider on felt. I doubled the felt and hid a piece of cardstock in between the two back pieces. Not only did it make them sturdier, but it hid my hot mess of stitching on the backs. On the dragonfly one, I used fabric.

A simple and useful felt project that I enjoyed. I have some other bugs that I want to do as well, but they’ll have to wait as I have about 10 more projects to finish from this event!

That’s really cute and clever. Do they stay on the corners or would they fall off if you put the book in a bag?

Of course the little bee is my favorite :honeybee:

So cute!

The felt has a bit of tooth and seems to be sticking.

I love that you shaped the bee one like a beehive! The insets look wonderful. You added so much detail to them. I think the moth is my favorite.

They look really great, almost that I want to try myself but I use mostly paper

I am doing some paper projects as well. Still trying to figure out how to make an origami box…I lost the steps so I have to try again!
