My gran knitted this cardigan years ago but one of her unwanted visitors have eaten it.
So she has asked me if there would be anyone who had the pattern for it. Long shot i know but I said I’d ask… so she said it was a foxglove and bumble bee cardigan pattern from the 80s and was in a magazine.
Do we know where this person’s grandmother lived? I’m asking because that way we could maybe figure out which magazine to look for.
I suppose it’s unlikely grandma is Dutch, but if she happens to be Dutch, I’ve got access to a ton of old issues of Steek and Ariadne through my mum, those were some of the most popular yarn magazines in the 80s.
A friend of the family has offered me a bunch of knit and crochet magazines of her mother’s, which I haven’t picked up yet but when I do, I’ll keep an eye out for that. It looks like it had been very cute.
I cannot help with that particular sweater, but my google searching did bring up a selection of fun knitted sweaters and I just had to share this link to some pics from a 1980’s knitting book. I really do wish I had that luxury sweater, though I know I’d never be able to pull off the look as well as that model!
