As part of the Summer Camp Arts & Crafts Club, members received a cookie cutter to craft with. I thought it would make for a perfect frame and came up with this idea. The cookie cutter is metal, so I covered the outside with a black satin ribbon that I’d purchased earlier thisvsummer for a different project (it was nice because I happened to have all the supplies on hand when I went to make this moth magnet!). Thankfully, the ribbon was the exact width needed to cover the metal. I left the inside edge of the cookie cutter as bare metal.
There’s about a quarter inch of space between the night sky and the shimmery blue cardstock on the back, which was perfect for hiding the two small magnets that I added.
What a cool and original take on the challenge! I love your celestial moth. The colors are fantastic and the night scene a perfect complement. Plus, the moth sitting on the frame gives it a ton of dimension. Lovely job!
