Ceramic Figurine Revamp(ire)

My MIL used to collect these types of ceramic figurines. They decorated her fireplace mantel, shelves, and dressers. When she passed, they came to me. They are not my style, but I kept them with the intention of revamping them into some sort of Halloween or DOD decor. Well, it has been on my projects list for nearly 20 years now. This morning, I couldn’t sleep so I got up at 3 am to clean up my craft room and came across this one. Time to get it done.

Final Revamp(ire)!

Original figurine…lovely but just not me:

Cool idea, what will you do with them once finished?

This one will be part of my Halloween decor. I thought she would be lovely in a graveyard scene since she is carrying flowers.

I was thinking of painting her face DOD style, but I don’t think I can see to paint that small. I still want to add a charm to her neckband and maybe add some ceramic roses to her dress, but for now, she is off my WIP list!

She looks great, if you didn’t want to do DOTD, she could wear a couple of lovely vampire bite marks on her neck

She’ll be perfect in one of your halloween scenes or lurking on a mantel! Nice revamp in all senses of the word… I couldn’t resist.

Thanks! I put it on top of a bookcase to show my husband…he didn’t even notice the vampire bite…just thought it was a Spanish dancer…ha ha.

Its cool teh way you kept a sentimental item, yet made it your own. I agree, she was in the perfect stance for a vampire bite!

Thanks…I think @edel saw it first!

I have six more…I am thinking maybe they can be zombiefied…all of the women are in ballgowns and the men are in dress attire from about the 1700’s…I have no idea what to do with them…nobody wants them so they would just go into the landfill. Decor tastes sure have changed…wish I could find someone who has Victorian taste or whatever era these are in!
