I happened to go to Chili’s with my husband for dinner during the period where I was planning crafts for the Trash to Treasure swap, and we bought home some leftovers. As I was putting the food away I noticed the cute design on the bag- a throwback to the days when they had the tables with colorful tiles in the top.
These measure 3x3, just the right size for a swap package insert or quick note.
I also made envelopes, and from some scraps of sticker paper. I made square seals that I colored with markers, to match the cards. (I knew I was saving those little bits for something!) When I was attaching them to the envelopes, I peeled back the backing about halfway and applied the sticker to the corner of the envelope, then pulled the backing up over the back of the flap, re-sticking it to the rest of the exposed sticker and making the backing easier to remove when it’s time to close up the envelope.

Nice save and repurpose!
The tiles are gone, and now, so is the chili! My husband dropped in a few weeks ago for chili and chips and was told that they no longer serve chili! WHAT? So we are now calling the restaurant NOCHILI’s!
Great save! I never would’ve thought these came of a to-go bag at all! I thought they were layered papers cut with a digital cutting machine. Your method for attaching the seal, but leaving the backing paper intact is GENIUS.
I swear I thought you hand-colored all the designs. Maybe the envelope closures being hand-colored made me think it was all hand-colored, since the colors seemed to match. They make a really beautiful set of little cards. I love them!
