Christmas Craftalong

It IS a heel flap, can you believe it!?

What a bummer about the machine. Are there any projects that could be fun to do by hand?

When this one is ironed I can go and frame it. And I can paint the other frame. I stitched a sampler a few weeks ago and I’ve got another small Christmas sampler almost ready. I could even break my decades-old tradition and frame them right after finishing?

I had wanted to knit something cute for my friend’s toddler. Maybe now I can actually get around to doing that?

Ohmahgosh you guys I am in love with how these little appreciation gifts are looking! I picked up the soaps from a local farm and just look!
(Imagine me with Kermit muppet arms)

All that’s left is kidlet’s making some beeswax candles and how to package them. Possibly adding a sweet-to-eat treat.

Wow, they look super fancy and expensive!

Lovely! And the soaps and wash cloths compliment each other.

I love them. I might have to steal this idea. It’s fantastic.

Thanks, guys! I’m chuffed. I’ve never been this on the ball with handmade gifts before so that it’s working is especially exciting

Great gifts darling!

I picked up some cloth to make a big stack of un-paper towels, and started a bunch of funky beaded decor gifts that are staying secret for now.

Oh, and I spent hours today creating family calendars on the Walgreens website, I have all the monthly pics of the kiddo, and about half of the family birthdays and random funny holidays added in. Yay for easy gifts for grandparents!

We had the first snow today, a good reminder that Christmas is coming!

I just cast on this sweater for my friend’s toddler: Frosty's Christmas Kids / DROPS Children 30-28 - Free knitting patterns by DROPS Design

It’s been a while since I knitted something that wasn’t a sock so I started with the plain back. I knitted for an hour or so and almost completed half the back - yay for tiny sizes! Not a huge fan of the yarn though. It looks really pretty but I prefer knitting with yarns that aren’t so fuzzy.

That’s cute and the perfect pattern to start on a snowy day :snowman_with_snow:

33 days until December 23rd!

I’ve been doing quite a bit of framing, now I can’t sew. I’m in the middle of painting another thrift shop frame and these will be next:

Finishing in a hoop is not my favourite thing to do but they’ll look great when they’re done. I just need to find matching paint or ribbon in my stash. The animal-themed ones are stitched by @jemimah .

I was at Walmart today, so I picked up some Mason jars, and the ingredients to make Friendship Soup in a Jar Mixes for holiday gifting. Sadly, they were out of pearled barley, so I have to find that elsewhere. Now I’m using naptime to finish some handmade beaded gifts!

I love seeing the bottom three together like that! What size are they? I would love to stitch those up one year as gifts (probably not enough time this year!).

The hoops are 5" and the patterns closer to 4" ( on standard sized aida, is that 14 count?) There are only 4 or 5 colours and they’re whole stitches only, so they don’t take long to stitch.

They are so cute. I tracked down the patterns on Etsy. :grimacing: :crossed_fingers:

They came from an older issue of Cross Stitcher, maybe 2022 or 2021?

I think these are the same? (Or close enough!)

96 Unpaper Towels cut during nap time. Hopefully I can serge the edges tomorrow.

Toddlers aren’t that big so this sweater is growing fast! It’s a fun knit now I’m working on the snowman.
