I must have been bitten by a spider this year. Halloween spiders transformed into Christmas spiders. These little critters were made from my mom’s earrings and jewelry, random beads, and yes, I did have to purchase more wire and bugle beads.
I donated seven little glittery spiders and all sold at our church Artesian Craft Fair last weekend. They were a hit, and we all did a happy dance!
They’re all so sweet! What a wonderful way to repurpose old jewelry. I have a huge soft spot for spiders and now I’m tempted to raid my bead stash and make a Christmas spider for my tree.
I thread the wire through the clip on thiny to stableize everything. Post earings need some finagiling as well. A bit of glue comes in handy sometimes.
I love the little tag you attached to tell people why they need a Christmas spider for their tree. If you don’t mind, I might steal your idea to make some Christmas spiders for my friends and relatives.
These are so very beautiful. You know, my daughter bought something similar recently and it came with a length of fishing line you could optionally tie to it. Even when she was the one pulling the string making it move it was the most magical little thing.
