My MIL sends stuff for our stockings every year, but we fill each other’s stockings already. So I decided to decorate some colored gift bag blanks for us to use for her stocking stuffers.
I have had these laser cut Christmas sweaters in my stash waiting to be decorated for a few years and thought that they’d be a fun addition. I just colored them with Tombow markers and hung them with bakers twine. They came in a set of 8 or so and were meant to be a garland, so the holes were already in them!
Great idea to use the sweater garland this way! I have a lot of wood garlands I haven’t actually made .. maybe I should use them separately! These are such cute bags. I like the idea of a lot of little things for presents. I dunno why. I wish somebody would just give me a stocking instead of the"tell me what you want and I’ll give it to you" sort of situation I have most of the time. It Sounds fun!
@RagingSloth Those wooden garlands are sooooo tempting, especially when they’re on sale. I guess now that JoAnn is gone, I will have fewer temptations. Sigh.
@Tapestry I remembered that I has set up an extra cutting plate with a Sticky Grid and that alphanumeric set has multiples of most letters, so it was actually not too bad!
They really are! There is so much potential in that little bag and someone else has done the hard part. I think I am going to try to decorate a few more this year to use as gift tags next year - particularly for people who are likely to use them as ornaments in coming years.
But yeah I guess less temptation now…
