Chronic Ed: "It's not that hard" Animation [WIP]

No pictures at the moment as I’m in the camper without internet, except for my phone.

Ok! This one is based on so many people saying it’s easy, when they have so much help.

So, one side of a bridge, which is falling down, will be several people with pain that are smiling, and cheering Chronic Ed on. While below the pillars are falling apart, but there’s a whole host of construction workers repairing the bridge.

Then the scene will pan over to Chronic Ed, and I haven’t decided which I’ll do. Either no workers and tumbleweeds blowing underneath, or I’ll put workers standing around under all yelling “NO!” in unison.

As for this animation, I’m redoing all the images from scratch, and using Synfig only for making all the parts. The hope is that Synfig won’t crash as much, which it still does, :face_exhaling: . So glad there’s a Recover that works quite well, heh.

As for the scene, I made the bridge to be 2.5 times the width of the view. So since I post these to Tiktok, I’m using 1080x1920 for the dimensions. Which makes the bridge 2700 pixels across. Now Synfig kind of clobbers all the numbers (translation: Uses some very non-intuitive coordinate numbering), so when it comes time to start animating, I’ll have to play around with moving the bridge and the people to insure a smooth transition.

So far, it does look good.

Ok! I got the formula figured out.

No internet, so had to use my phone, :man_shrugging:t3:

Anyway, this time I’m making sure to leave everything in its own group. Not sure if I should do that, as I will have to adjust everything when the time comes to animate it, but meh, that’s what I’ll do. The formula above should make everything move at the right speed. So no sliding like the box in “Woops!”.

Oof! I may have bitten off more than I can chew with this. Too much going on, that will make it very difficult to keep track of.. Hmm! Not sure how I am going to do this, but I’ve gotten this far, can’t give up now, heh.
