Clematis is one of those flowers that has a million different variations. But, this is the way that I’ve represented them most often in my tsumami-zaiku practice - white and pink or white and blue with a star shaped pattern.
When I was making these pieces is about when I started to feel the burn out set in - I made half a dozen of these at once. While I am proud of having produced so much work in the last year, it was definitely a test of my energy levels - and showed me how different they are from before I got sick.
These pieces were all mounted on silver tone u-pins.
I did these in two color variations - one more jewel toned, and one like this with less intense color variation in the blue and pink petals.
