Would cold tea work too? I have some “put tea bag in cold water” ones too.
I don’t see why not. Iced tea in summer sounds like a lovely idea.
This is a weird photo I cropped from one I found on the internet but maybe you get the idea:
The paper is folded around the tea bag, overlapping in the back. The sides are sealed creating an envelope. I’ve got no idea why the blogger didn’t remove the envelope, bit perhaps they really liked the design.
This is definitely something I’m interested in! Thanks for the tag, @Tapestry.
I just realized I use loose leaf tea a lot. Is it allowed to make a tea bag and craft our own paper sealed cover to send our favorite flavors? It should stay fresh as long as it’s in a small ziploc bag as well. Plus, I’m not sure how people would feel that I am handling tea leaves to pack it. Just a thought.
@Annchen - I’d consider that sealed because it’s individually package even if the package is sealed paper.
@Reese52 - I think for health and safety reasons we should stick to sealed tea bags. I’m planning a tea vs. coffee drinker swap in the fall (US only) which would be a larger swap and tins or sealed bags of loose leaf tea would be a great fit for that swap.
Ok, I thought so. Just wondering…
This sounds very fun! I have to see when I get my other swap items finished, but I’m interested…
I organized and cleaned my room yesterday and I found two very suitable extra smalls. So I guess I only have to make two cards now. I think I said I was too busy for another swap but making two cards before June 8 should be easy.
Yay! I should clean my craft room and see what shakes loose
. Pretty sure it would just be dust though.
I restocked some of my favorite tea yesterday. Now I’m wrecking my brain what I could make as extra smalls.
Does it have to be tea related?
Nope! It just needs to be mailable via a regular envelope. I shared some extra small ideas in the original swap post but I’m sure there are lots of others.
Yay for restocking your fave tea! I am down to my last tea bag of my fave tea, but can’t justify ordering new bags when I have a bajillion others still. I’m hoarding that bag for a rough day when I need a pick-me-up.
I was actually hoping on tonight to ask this same question ![]()
I just found some inspiration for the cards and have an idea for the extra smalls. Let’s see how much crafting time I get next week to decide with how many pieces I might join.
I am actually working on this, itty bitty bit by itty bitty bit. I don’t really make cards, but I took a class in paper making with agricultural waste last month, at the library. After we pulled our practice piece of paper, we were given pieces of paper made from the same plants to make cards with. So I pulled that out of where it had been stashed. I was wondering what to make as an extra small, but then remembered that I have a few pieces of 4”x6” Art put aside from a previous project. I’m going to try to find them today. Only problem is that I might need to send them in two separate envelopes, as the card is smaller than 4”x6”, and is bulkier than an average card. Oh well. One thing at a time.
Those sound really cool! For sending, you could always just send in a larger envelope. I’ve done that when the thing I want to include with my card is bigger than my cards.
I am probably going to join this one haha. I may or may not have bought some tea at the grocery store today just for this swap.
Okay: I did. And I really didn’t need to as I already have tons of tea + already decided what and had reasons why I chose what I planned on sending from my stash before I left the house. But I walked in the grocery store and they had bulk individually wrapped teas right there in the entrance….
This swap keeps trying to suck me in but I am running behind (perpetually, lately) in the Ongoing ATC Swap… So, maybe, we’ll see what I manage to whip up here…
I hope to make time for this
The tea right in front of you must have been a sign!
