I made these postcards in Canva using my own photos. They’re for World Postcard Day. Geocaching HQ has a special souvenir for world postcard day events. I hosted one last year at the library and it was a big success. These will have signatures from our event and go to connections that have contacted me in other states and countries. I also take in postcards that can be colored, stamped, stickered, cut and pasted, whatever idea the attendees want to create.
These images came out a little bit darker than I had wanted, but they’re still fun. Glossy on the front, regular matte paper on the back. I have not cut them to size yet. I suppose this is more design than craft, but they took me a while to find photos and get it all put together.
There are definitely different areas/climates in Colorado: the desert, the plains, the forest, the tundra. Since I geocache, I see a lot of interesting areas through different seasons. Even where it looks like there’s nothing much in the area, there are tiny flowers close to the ground.
I enjoy taking photos of flowers. I can get much closer to them than wildlife. There’s a splendid area fairly close that grows so many different flowers that I had a heyday viewing all of them.
I would like to keep a little brochure of the most common flowers so I eventually consistently remember them. I went geocaching with a lovely woman who had so much flora memorized, it was delightful.
Somewhat sidenote: My son enjoys taking landscape photos. He’s great at sky photos as well.
