Colorful scrappy cotton baby blanket

I made this scrappy baby blanket entirely from stash. My MIL gave me SO MUCH cotton and cotton blend yarn last year when she decided she was bored of making wash clothes and scrubbies. I only used 100% cotton ones for this project.

The pattern is “Easy Baby Blanket” and is offered as a free PDF on Ravelry.

The pattern is shown using a solid color for the whole blanket. Mom-to-be is a chef at our favorite restaurant. And she has a “colorful” personality. I just can’t imagine that she will go with a traditional color palette for her baby due in June. Hopefully, all this brightness doesn’t freak his newborn eyes out too much. :flushed:

Close up of seed stitch border. I used the intarsia method for this part as I went along each row.

All those perfect stitches. It looks amazing and was a fantastic way to use up stash!

You’re so kind, as they are definitely not perfect. I just noticed a wonky stitch in the third photo and it’s just one of many.

It’s ok, babies never see the wonky stitches.

They just feel the love. It looks great!!

This is so cute! And way to bust that stash!

If I’d been making this, the whole thing would have been one giant wonky stitch. I don’t knit well except on a loom.

But you did a lovely job and it’s sure to be treasured!

Beautiful! The alternating stitch patterns is such a cool detail and I love all the color.

Thanks. I had to change to first row of each color change to all knit stitches to achieve a more clean look. Other wise the purl “bumps” in those sections would have been distracting.

Good call. It’s flawless!

This came out beautifully. I’m sure it’s cuddly soft too, being all cotton.

Definitely after a wash and fluff. One of the yarns was kind of stiff prior to that.
