I had a really rough day at work (I worked 12 intense hours) and tomorrow will be hard as well. So even though I finished most of my stitching in the first two weeks of the swap, I guess I’ll be sending out on Saturday when I have no other plans.
I think I’ve finished too, and back home from my trip. I’ll be mailing on Monday

Does anyone know the HS code for finished cross stitch/embroidery pieces? I want to mail out today but can’t seem to find the code—is it 5810.10.00.00?
Great!! I’m sending out to @Kwality570 today! I had a plan in my head for @AIMR but it isn’t really working out. I might need another day to finish that - we’ll be going on a trip on Monday so it’ll definitely be sent out that day.
@AIMR I hope you manage to figure it out! I can’t help you with that unfortunately.

I mailed out to others so I am going to see if I can find the old customs logs. I have never had problems mailing to you in the past.
5810 is the main thing - “Embroidery in the piece, in strips or in motifs” (as long as that’s right, I think it’s fine)
Then 5810.91 - “Of cotton”
5810.10 - “Embroidery without visible ground” - which I guess would be more tapestries and 100% stitched surface embroidered items? but really I think it’s the 5810 that matters for this.
(If it’s not mainly cotton, then 581092 - “of man-made fibres” or 581099 - “of other textile”)
The best place I’ve found to look up the codes is the (Australian Border Force website). It’s a bit fiddly, but I can usually figure out the things I send often. I think the codes are pretty much all standardised internationally?

Thanks!
@Immaculata I will be mailing Monday as well since I missed the post lady!
Most swap packages are on their way, and I’m sure the other ones will follow shortly.
I was in a bit of a hurry, as I was on my way to the airport, so I forgot to take pictures of what I sent to @AIMR . Plus according to the post office, it was too heavy (it wasn’t at home) so I had to open it and take something out. Hopefully US customs aren’t going to make a fuss now because the weight doesn’t match the form (which needs to be filled in at home, before dropping it off at the post office).

My package made it through US customs and is off to The Netherlands! I can’t wait to see what everyone made!
I am a bit sad that I packed up my embroidery supplies. I guess it is best because I have so many other projects I can do.But,I am working on a project that I started years ago using ordinary sewing thread. I had forgotten how calming it is to sew slowly and with no real pattern in mind…
