I think I’ve made up my mind on what I’ll be making, but I’m not entirely sure on materials yet…
I have my ideas, pins saved, materials set asside. But I have to finish a project for my mom’s birthday first
I went to Joann’s and picked up some supplies today!
How were the sales at Joann’s? Still 20%?
Yep. Still 20% and they increased from a 1 yard minimum on fabric to a 2 yard minimum.
Ugh. There is nothing I love so much that I want 2 yards of it. I’m just not that kind of sewer.
My 8yo taught me paper quilling today. She’s doing it for an art project in school and is absolutely hooked.
Here is her flower
And these are mine
Size comparison
I’m all for miniaturization. Maybe that’s because I worked in microelectronics for so long.
I’m definitely going to incorporate those flowers into one of the projects
Those are so neat!! I’m putting together a paper quilling kit for work right now! I still need to make a sample. 72 kits done, 28 to go!
I used to do a lot of quiling! it’s a fun craft.
Check-in question - is there a candy you associate with Spring?
For me it’s the Reeses peanut butter eggs. I know they have hearts for valentines and pumpkins at Halloween but the eggs are the best ratio.
Those little malty eggs are an Easter must for me.
Cadbury mini chocolate eggs (the kind with a crackle shell not the creme ones). I adore them.
Finished my two smalls and are happy with them. Nothing beats Cadbury creme eggs!!! But every year they shrink in size – grrrr
Jelly beans! I like a variety of brands and flavors. Most recently, I’ve been enjoying the SweetTarts version - yum!
I love the starburst kind!
YES! These are sooo good and I’m normally not even a chocolate fan!
Just wondering, is there a way to ship paper flowers without them getting squished?
I would say a bigger box and surround it with loose grocery bags if you have them. Not tight, but fluffy around the flowers if that makes sense
I have one item done and my extra picked out. I’m going to work on my other item this evening.
I usually only have jellybeans in the spring so they’re probably mine.
