Cookie Cat Ice Cream Sandwiches

One of my daughter’s friends had a birthday party yesterday. We like to spoil our friends and love feeding people. One of the shows they like is Steven Universe, so we made some Cookie Cat ice cream sandwiches, like in the show.
I made a cookie cutter out of a soda can, made chocolate cookies and stuffed them with ice cream. Canonically, it’s vanilla and strawberry, so we made some of those. And some with chocolate and vanilla.

The cookie cutter:

This is what it looks like in the show:

How much fun is this? Very fun, that’s how much! You really captured the look and I bet that they were a huge hit.

Thanks everyone!
They were fun to make, if a bit fiddly at times.
Some of the kids from the birthday came over today (it feels like the last few weeks have been one long giant friends hangout for these kids). The feedback was very positive, the cookie cat song was sung to us and my kid requested we make them again.
I’m reading up on 3d printing cookie cutters, just want to make sure it can be done in way that is food safe.

They look delicious and making your own cookie cutter an act of utter genius!

Very awesome. I bet they will talk about this for a long while.

Note - Years from now one of the kids will argue that they know they made them for real because they remember eating them at a birthday party. :joy_cat:
