Craft Stars Garage Sale Round 2 - Info & Discussion Thread

Grrr… I was supposed to be listing items this morning. But then DH & I discovered that neither of us had picked up Eclipse glasses. He tried Walmart, CVS and the grocery store with no luck before he had to start work. So I just had to bring a toddler to the library to get a pair to share. Then I had to get said toddler to leave the Children’s Room, and get her a big girl Library Card while we were there. Sorry guys. As soon as she goes down for a nap, I’ll work on listings. Of course taking a break for the Eclipse, now that I found a single pair of glasses and we’ll have 97.9% totality.

I collect “good” fortunes! I used to have some from more than 30 years ago. Always used to carry some in my purse and could give one out if someone really needed a good fortune!

These are lovely!!! Can you put fortunes into them?

Oooh, sorry! I have extra eclipse glasses I can give you if you need more than one pair. (But I’m pretty much exactly the same distance from you, that the library is.)

I love that you would carry them to give out!! :sob:

Yes, the ends are open, so you can tuck a fortune inside.

I was just thinking, I could do a watercolor (or 2) to put in the sale. What’s a good size? Does anyone have a favorite size? I was thinking probably 5x7.

Oooh! That would be lovely! I vote anywhere between 4x6 to 8x10. :sparkling_heart:

It would be easiest (and cheaper) to ship 5x7.

In other news, 20 items have sold, and 8 have been shipped to their new homes.

And I want to say a big thank you to @thanate and @Tapestry for shipping and for sending tracking numbers right away. You guys are awesome!

I made mine 5x7 and did plan on sending them via regular envelope. Then I thought about how upset I’d be if they went missing, so they both went in photo mailers this morning. Shipping to Canada was $17. Still worth it though because I’d be pulling my hair out if anything happens to either art piece.

The Thing I wanted to donate is still not finished, but tonight I’m going to go through my stash and see if there are any finished items that I can donate!! I’m pretty sure there’s some embroidery. I’d be able to ship them worldwide, but they’d be sent from the EU, so anyone in the EU could buy them without being faced with customs fees.

Whatever this thing is   just came out of the bisque kiln! It’s getting glazed tomorrow and then goes back in for one more firing. :crossed_fingers: It might be ready for adoption on Friday.

Well, the USPS internet was down when I stopped by on my way to town this morning, so I was unable to send. I will try again on my way home or at a different PO.

We had a last min search for our eclipse glasses from 2017 this morning just before I walked out the door. Found them! We only have about 30% totality here and it may be too cloudy, but I have mine with me in the car and I will pull over if I need to!

We’ve got our glasses at the ready here! We’re in the 100% totality path, but it’s on and off cloudy so here’s hope for a glimpse of full coverage in 20 minutes or so.

Technically the hedgehog doesn’t need glasses, but he just looks so cute snuggled up with them.
