For the Halloween Swap this year i had @momiemae who listed mackenzie childs as a style inspo. As soon as i googled that name, i fell in love with the checkered kitchy look of every single thing that popped up. Very inspiring. Since crochet is the most accessible craft I’ve come to do lately, i eventually found a crochet bag Tutorial, but man, the urge to paint random objects was strong.
This is the final bag, where instead of crocheting the checkered strap the way the pattern calls for, i decided to use an adjustable store bought strap. I didn’t love the look of the strap, but i also struggled with the strap the pattern used too. Mostly i was afraid the many ends to weave in would be visible and ruin the look, and crocheting over the yarn also caused an unsightly look.
Here’s some extra shots, including the back, lining, and the strap struggle.
@Tapestry@Manders@irid3sc3nt thanks so much! I also love the lining fabric, and i got it from Spoonflower. It’s “vintage Halloween garden” and i’m so happy i bought a whole yard of it
