Crocheted Cloth Rugs For Bathroom

I crocheted 2 rugs using fabric strips.

This is the beginning of the 31” larger one.

I followed this tute on Creativebug: Crochet A Rag Rug by Cal Patch.

These are planned designs. I got my inspiration from one of the members pics in the gallery for this tute. Her rug reminded me of a galaxy.

I thought to myself, Maybe I can design my strips to look like that.

I did use the strips randomly but changed them out at intervals for the dark or light ones.

I am very pleased with how the rugs turned out. They remind me of designer rugs. I don’t think that I will be crocheting any more though.

I really want to start weaving rectangular rugs instead. I’ll save crocheting for the traditional yarn projects.

These are so neat! I made a few crocheted rag rugs from tee shirt yarn (that had been repurposed from worn out shirts), but I was never really able to use them. My dog would come along and “beat them up” into a wad on the floor, and eventually I got tired of straightening them 12 times in a single day. Maybe I’ll try again some day. Well done!

These are very pretty and I love your color choices!

The larger one reminds me of an eye.

Thanks! The colors are ok. I used some wound fabric strips balls that were gifted me. I’ve since moved and my bathroom has a white mini tiles floor.

I’m keeping the rugs but adding another color to my bathroom scheme, yellow. So, it will be yellow and turquoise and the rugs will blend in fine.

Thanks! Maybe you could use them in a closet(s) or pantry. Or some other place where he/she does not care to go. :growing_heart:
