One of my crochet club students wanted to make a mushroom, but didn’t like the pattern that I had. Her mom found a pattern on Pinterest, (and although I couldn’t find it to share here, this video is close: https://youtu.be/wHlqs2e5Hqs?si=QlNJ9Pwab5BCFZHt ) and I taught my student how to make it. It took longer to make because of this, and I feel like it didn’t come out exactly correct, but mine is cute nonetheless, and she was happy with her version. And, it’s red!
I love it and its cheesy grin! Super cute.

Thank you! It sat on my desk for the rest of the year, and gave me a chuckle every time I saw it. It would frequently get buried under stuff, and then it was a cute surprise every time I uncovered it. I don’t even care that it doesn’t really pop like it’s supposed to
It’s so cute! I love how you keep it on your desk and how it surprises you with it’s cheer when you uncover it.

I recently went to the bank, and the teller had crocheted a large version, and it was so cheery looking, sitting at her window! It makes me want to make a bunch of tiny versions and hide them on the desks of co-workers
What a fun idea!

It might be next year’s “while my students are working on mandated testing” project!
