Cross Stitch Seed Packets

I’m calling these done and moving on. Soo, I present to you…cross stitch seed packets!

It’s hard to pick a favorite. I can’t pick one. I love them all for such different reasons.

I tried a couple things, but this is what eventually landed on for finishing them:

  • Cut excess fabric to around 1 cm all around.
  • Folded excess toward back
  • Finger pressed
  • Used tacky glue to glue down edges
  • Used clips to hold down while glue dried
  • cut chip board to size for each one (slightly smaller than packet)
  • once packet is fully dried, I used tacky glue to glue chip board to them, added clips while drying. Here’s what the back looks like:

The pattern is from the March 2026 issue of Cross Stitcher:

These are awesome too! Love all your floral themes. Such perfect stitching.

Questions…if it isn’t a faux pas to ask…. what size aida are you using and do you use embroidery floss or something else?
I adore the art form but mine never look so good;)

Thank you for the kind words! I think most of them are 16ct. One (I can’t remember which) is 18ct. I use two strands of dmc embroidery floss. (Floss is 6 strands, you have to pull out two.) Use a tapestry needle (it’s blunter on the end) instead of a sharp and it won’t split stitches or the cloth. Make sure the stitches are all the same direction. And I use the ladder method whenever possible.

Annnnd, that’s all the advice I have. lol. Hope it helps!
