One of my social media feeds kept feeding me content on this particular type of coloring and I finally caved last week and I’m obsessed.
There is so much inspiration online featuring these basic little scenes, usually with cute little animals doing human things. Coloring books by Coco Wyo are particularly popular, but there are other lookalikes as well.
These are all colored with alcohol markers (cheap “Caliart” brand from Amazon). I got digital download color sheets from an Etsy shop and have been printing them at 50%. I think they’re easier/quicker to color and the possibilities for use are much better (little art? Cards? Putting them in happy mail or birthday cards?). I’m not very good at blending, but I’ve really been trying to work on “shadows” and making them pop. When I’m done, I do highlights with a white Gelly Roll pen and I always think that makes it so much cuter.
You were so clever to make them this size, it ups the cuteness by a million. At one of the many, many libraries we visit in a month (#HomeSchoolLife) there is a “Little Free Art Gallery” box (exactly like a little free library but for tiny art) these would be a big hit in one of those. You could fix them to a bit of card board or thick paper so they would stand on a little easel or have a jump ring type hanger on the back. I love the idea of them as card fronts, though.
