In another of our many D&Decor projects, I made a Mimic. We already had the chest, so I carved teeth out of shipping foam (and duct taped them in), sewed a giant tongue, and added a bunch of googly eyes. he tongue rolls up and fits in the closed chest when it isn’t in use, and it can still close, despite the teeth.
That is fantastic! The tongue is my favorite part and just too funny but everything about this is perfect. That’s definitely my kind of home decor!
Thank you! I like the tongue too. My kid keeps walking off with it and using it as a lap blanket, which is also hilarious.
That’s even better! ![]()
Brilliant!
This is hilarious! I don’t know much of anything about D&D, but I love this. Tell me, what’s “in use” for your Mimic’s tongue? ![]()
I’d say its tongue is “in use” when it is either being used as a lap blanket by my kids, or when its stuck out and ready to slurp up it’s prey.
(It is also the birthday present recepticle for gifts that have yet to be opened on special occasions).
Ah ha! I didn’t realize it was detachable to be a blanket! It’s a super fun way to store gifts-in-waiting!
I mean, I wasn’t originally intended to be a blanket, but my kids had other ideas.
They both have skull pillows and various stuffed organs, so I guess it fits their style. ![]()
Whybis a tongue weirder than, say, a kidney? Bahahahaaaa!
