I wanted to try diamond art, and I bought a kit several years ago in 2020, after a student convinced me to try it. But teaching during the pandemic didn’t really leave time for crafts. But, after several years of “post-COVID” teaching, including the launch of a time-consuming new curriculum, I finally have time (and the mental capacity) for creative pursuits. However, I wanted to try diamond art on a smaller scale before I jumped into a larger project.
This bookmark is from a set of 3, and it took much longer than I expected. But, after watching a tips video on YouTube, things went a little faster. I didn’t really enjoy it at first, but as I went along, I started to like how relatively mindless it was, which is something I need after a long day of dealing with 6th graders I liked it enough that I went out and bought another small kit (they were on clearance, so I wanted to grab it before it it was gone).
Thank you! It became more meditative as I got into it. I was not sitting in a good position, so I was a little sore from an awkward posture, but later on, I had a better set up so I was more comfortable, which helped.
Thank you! I still have the one I bought during the peak of COVID, but I worry about how long it will take because I only work on for a little while before bed. Or, it will be like when I work on a puzzle- I can’t do anything else until it’s finished. It will be one of those extremes!
