Digital Teddy

So I’ve been trying my hand at translating Teddy Cuddlestuff to digital. I’m not completely happy with the results. But I’m sure with practice I’ll get better. This is only my first try. I really don’t like the background and I had a hard time picking out the colors that I like to use. What do you guys think? Any suggestions or tips to make my background less “80s paint” looking? I’m using procreate.

I think this looks great. It’s definitely a learning curve to try to start working digitally!
Maybe using some textured brushes that are a slightly lighter or darker color than the background would add a nice texture?

Or play with the line thickness? I have never done any true digital, but I think he looks great!
