I’ve had this floral fabric for years and I immediately knew that I wanted to use it for Elizabeth’s dress. After searching and searching for the fabric, I managed to find it just as I was starting to despair that I no longer had it. The edge of the dress is trimmed with a bias trim that I had in stash. Her shrug is made from 2 different ribbons and her bun is made from felt.
This project was very much influenced by all the other clothespin dolls that have been posted. Everyone has done such an amazing job, that I felt inspired to also put in the extra effort and I love that I can now display my own handmade characters from my favorite book!
Gorgeous dolls! Your painting details are so tiny and perfect on both dolls, but my favorite part is Elizabeth’s bun and the ribbon wrapping it. chef’s kiss
Your pictures are also fantastic and that edition of the book soooo pretty.
These are so cute! Such great details in both of the! [swooooon] But there is just something about the way his trousers are painted in combination with the way the clothes pin is made that I find hilariously endearing.
Thank you, I love them! You should join the next season of the Nerd Games. It’s a fun craftalong and I can say with certainty that these would have never come about if it wasn’t for the Summer Camp Arts & Crafts club!
