Embroidered Cotton Ballad Blouse

My latest addition to my me-made wardrobe was a resounding success. It fits wonderfully and I love the fabric.

This was my first time using this pattern (Ballad Blouse). I didn’t make a muslin/toile, because I’m lazy. There was a small mistake in the instructions, so that was frustrating for about 15 minutes until I figured out what was going on. Lots of curved hems. Otherwise, I found this pretty easy to put together.

The fabric is a lightweight cotton with a sort of lightning bolt pattern embroidered into it. It and the buttons are both from Jo-Ann’s.

This looks so pretty. Elegant w/o being “fancy.” I’d love to see a close up of the embroidery if you had a moment.

Thanks, everyone!

I really like this style blouse, and the pattern comes with lots of sleeve options. I’m thinking of adapting it to be the bodice of a shirt dress.

It’s white-on-white, so a decent picture was hard. :joy:

Thank you! I’m getting so much wear out of most of the garments I’ve made this year.
