Embroidery mounting/framing

Anybody have interesting ways to mount or frame embroidery?

I’ve done hooplas, hoopless, frames, mats, made garments, tote bags, greeting cards, ornaments, and even tiny trees.
But there must be more!

My latest piece looks best as an oval or rectangle. It wouldn’t hold up in a garment, is too big (12" tall) for an ornament or card.
A frame looks kind of stodgy and grandma; hoopless too unfinished. I don’t have a rectangular or oval hoop.

Help?

Could you set into a mini quilt for a wall hanging. Pick up some of the colours of the embroidery in the fabrics you choose and then quilt, avoiding the embroidery piece. It would frame it, but in a more dynamic way.

I was thinking wall hanging too.

That’s a good idea, I’ve never done that.

Maybe finish the bottom with tassels made from the same colors of floss…
