There are two padded outside pockets, snap closure, two inside pockets, and an inside D ring where you can attach your keys or the wetbag. That wetbag isn’t small, it just looks small inside the bag…
The lovely celestial fabric was given to me by @AIMR and the PUL for the wetbag was part of the collection I received from @AIMR and @thanate The yellow fabric I have had in my stash forever and even tried giving away for a bit. The blue webbing I found at my local quilt shop. I will come back and copy paste that story here…
This is so cute! I’ve never used a diaper bag, but this seems to have lots of thoughtful details!

Babies need so much stuff when they are little. That bag is going to be hauling a lot! Great job in figuring out the wet bag. I hate it when pattern pieces are missing, but I knew you would figure it out!
I had a diaper bag that I made for myself that had an attached changing pad. At some point the velcro gave out and that changing pad would just hang off the side. I ended up pinning it with a diaper pin to keep it in place and then was annoyed that it made using the bag beyond the baby years kinda weird. So I set out to make a more versatile bag for my daughter. Hopefully it gets many years of use beyond the baby years…
I ran into problems when I realized I didn’t think out my construction process with the wetbag, but a little creative thinking and I got it sorted out. I also used a waterproof zipper but realized after I was committed that it was made for keeping water OUT not IN. It’s one I had from making waterproof bike bags. But, it’s a great zipper and my daughter may never know unless I tell her.
Love this! It’s bright and fun and doesn’t scream “BABY!!!” when you look at it. I bet she will use it all the time!
I was so excited for my youngest (the sib closest in age was 10!) that I made my own diaper bag- Mary Engelbreit fabric, the classic black with cherries and cute cottages and the like. I don’t have it anymore but I wish I did.
