I’ve been saying forever that there just isn’t enough fairy stuff. I think people really underestimate interest in fairies. There hasn’t been a single good just-fairy or mostly-fairies movie ever. I don’t really care about Tinkerbell. She doesn’t look magical enough or something to me and it’s Disney. I want a pretty cartoon one and a pretty live-action one. Like ridiculously pretty and high budget. The best I’ve seen is the ones in fantasia. I just want more fairy stuff in my life. I rewatched JUST the fairy parts in Fantasia and A Fairy Tale as a kid a million times because those were the best I could get. I spent forever from when I was 9-12 just trying to draw fairies exactly as they look in Fantasia. Then I discovered Brian Froud and spent forever trying to draw like him.
I love this idea. I love fairy doors. I have three in my house and can always use more. I also love Brian Froud, I have one of his faeries tattooed on me.
Fairy houses! Those sound delightful. My mom built a new house and added fairy houses in delightfully unexpected places. She used to snap photos of “fairy evidence” on hiking trails and send them to my daughter. Tangles of exposed roots and moss were fairy hotels, mayapples were umbrellas, acorn caps were hats, etc. I really miss those days.
I had a serious fairy thing in my late teens and twenties. Though to be honest, in more of a mysterious and vaguely ominous “fae” kind of way. But i can definitely see a few things i’d love to craft for this.
My oldest daughter has had a lifelong obsession with fairies. She’s now 27. I was into them before her but now I am rather well versed. If life allows it I’d love to join this swap!
Love the fairies! I used to run a festival in my city for 10 years called “Faery Fest”. So bring on the fairy content here! When I’m allowed to participate, I will be so in on that!
