Felt Badge Studio Ghibli forest spirit

I don’t know much about Studio Ghibli but when researching for my partner @Manders for Felt Badge Swap R3 I saw this cute bunny like creature that I thought would be the perfect early spring character.

Made with wool felt and a miniature pom-pom trim. I stuffed a layer of sweater fabric between the felt to create a bit of poofy texture. It’s much bigger than I anticipated but once I’d got the features cut out I needed a big enough oval to fit inside and it turned out a bit more than badge size, more for display than wearing.

Did you know, you can cut out perfect little felt circles with a paper hole punch? That’s how I made the pupils of the eyes. The black outer edge is carefully brushed on sharpie marker

So adorable! You captured that little guy so perfectly. I don’t know what that little guy’s name is. I don’t think anyone does. He’s just the smaller Totoro. Lol. I love the pompom trim.

Pop tabs make awesome picture hangers! If you have one of those to stitch on the back, cheap & easy.
