First Drafts And Two Year Olds are Weird

So I’ve been quiet because I’ve been busy. While I haven’t commented a lot, I have been peeking in now and then to see all of the amazing thing you all have been creating. Most of the projects in this series are first drafts of new plushies. Some have been improved. Some still need work. I didn’t realize how many I had made until I started looking through my pictures. Let me know what you think,

Two year olds are weird. A while ago I made a spatula plushie for my cousin’s grandson to replace the the hard plastic one he carried around everywhere. Not too long ago, a couple asked if I could do custom work. Their niece (age 2) had attached to a bottle of cayenne pepper and they wanted something safer. I finally did some math and some experimenting and figured out how to do a cylinder. These are the first three tries at the pepper bottle. Which version do you like the best?

As long as I was making cylinders… This one will definitely end up on the Isle of Misfit Toys although I’m not to sure how is Toy Not Included notice will fair there. I’ll share pictures of the second and third drafts later. No one else will probably ever notice, but the top and bottom connections are different!

Cosplay Kitty wanted to dress up as a Martian. That was easy. But then…

He also wanted a space ship. This one too is a first draft and will end up on the Isle. But I know how to do it now, I will do what is essentially a quilt binding around the edges on the next one, in addition to making it a wee bit smaller. Although he could invite all the rest of his space friends over for a party in this one.

And then… well, I couldn’t decide which version I liked better. I put them all out and I only have the one on the left left. So I guess he isn’t a winner. It will probably be one of the two on the right. What do you think?

Lastly, Cosplay Kitty decided that I needed to STOP making all the things I ‘needed’ to make and make him a gingerbread costume – the little poop. So I dropped everything and made him a gingerbread boy, He really, really wanted to have a leg bitten off, but I resisted.

Next up Marshmallow. I have to keep that cylinder streak going!

These are all so fun! The spatula story made me smile when you first posted about it ans how funny that another kiddo is fixating on weird kitchen items! I love the middle Cayenne bottle and of course cosplay kitty is fabulous!

Cuteness! I also vote for the middle cayenne. I drive a Jeep and would use your ducks for ducking other Jeeps

It was so fun to see your iterations! I like the center cayenne the most, as well. But my favorite is the battery for some reason. FUN!

Middle bottle gets my vote. I think it’s the eyes.

That spaceship is blowing my mind!

You HAVE been busy. Great work and clever imagination.

so cute! another vote here for the middle cayenne
and I giggled at your “toy not included” comment

this all looks great, and I’m sure cylinders are tricky to sew!

That battery is hilarious. These are all amazing and adorable. Love the Gingerbread kitty and space kitty too!

These came out great! That third duck is my favorite and that battery makes me smile .

Wow, you have been incredibly busy! I especially love the little Jeep ducks. :duck: :pickup_truck:

Thank you everyone. I appreciate your opinions. I think the middle cayenne is the winner. The verdict is still out on the ducks.

These are hilarious. I almost bought a bottle of ranch pillow for a friend of mine, but held back because I felt like I could make something as good probably (also a side of hubris likely). Did I make it? No. But something about a giant sized soft replica of weird random objects is just funny.

Great job and love the experiments!
