Flower pressing

I guess I didn’t really know where to put this. But I figured well it is a collage of pressed flowers.

Very pretty! Do you use something to keep the colors fresh? I love pressed leaves and flowers but they fade and become brittle. What do you use to keep them on the paper?

Do you meant they fade once out of the press or do you mean while in the press???..if I’m honest I have only done flower pressing a few times so I’m no expert.

I use glue dots for mounting the flowers to the final board…but they can be tricky.

Same here…I have watched a few videos of people using fixatives to cover the flowers to keep the colors from fading quickly and also using silica beads to dry them in the microwave.

I am not sure I want to go down that road, so I just accept that I will enjoy my few pressed flowers for as long as they last and then do new ones.

I tried regular glue and it seeped through the leaves…I’ll have to try glue dots.

I have found they work well but best applying them to the board rather than the flower/leaf if you can. Sometimes it’s unavoidable and you have to be careful when pealing the glue from it’s backing if you applying direct to the flower/leaf as it will tear the flower/leaf if your not
