Forest Book Nook

I made this for the Light It Up swap. I knew my partner, @bunny1kenobi, has a love of books and miniatures, so I figured a Book Nook would be perfect for her.
Making something in the miniature realm for someone so adept at miniatures was a bit intimidating, but I did my best.

At first I was going to sculpt the trees. I got a branch from my yard as an example and then realized I could just use it! I cleaned the branches, cut them to size, and gave them two coats of Mod-Podge.

I used glitter paint on the back and the side behind the tree where the path goes, but I donโ€™t think that showed up well in photos.

I added fairy lights for the Light It Up part, and got moss, miniature grass, miniature flowers, and stepping stones to fill out the scene. I added two books as if someone had left them on the path.

The outer box was painted black to fade into the background, but it needed something. I added the small dots and am very happy with how simple yet classic it looks.

It was fun to work on something different and completely out of my comfort zone!
