Gift tags and envelopes from recycled books and a cereal box

I recently made some gift tags for @Annchen in the ‘Trash to treasure’ swap.

I do not like paper crafts because of glue. So I used only a tiny bit before sewing everything in place.

For the gift tags I used a cereal box for the base, a damaged curtain for the background and an old childrens book for decoration.

I burned the edges to give the paper some depth.

Back of the tags.

For the envelopes I used old book pages and the same damaged curtain that I used for the tags. I read everything carefully so that there would’nt be anything bad written.

I love the mix of fabric and paper, especially if there is stitching! The envelopes are something I would like to try with bits of old lace…they are lovely!

Wow, these are gorgeous!

I really like the curtain mesh over the book pages, that’s such an unusual & interesting element. Sewn paper is extra good in my eyes, combining 2 materials to make a real creative statement. Very cool!

Love those! You captured so much texture!
