My mom really likes gingerbread men, so I thought I’d use my new pyrography skills to make a simple tray for my mom. I still need to put a finishing coat on it. I’m getting food grade safe wax for it, but it will have to wait until after Christmas to be fully finished. I hope she likes it!
Cute. Um, shouldn’t the G-men be brown? Stain?
I thought of painting them, but I was afraid I’d ruin the entire thing. I may still try stain, but I have no idea how that will work with the paint that’s already on there. I’m keeping it as-is for now. I will let my mom give her opinion after she opens it on Christmas.
Super cute! And how thoughtful for you to use food safe wax for your topcoat.
Very cute! This is the perfect tray to serve cookies on!
I’m sure your mom will love this, I know I do! I really like the balance of the gingerbread men in the two opposing corners and the pops of color provided by the paint.
This is so cute!
That turned out so well! I’ve tried wood-burning before and it is not easy to master but yours are great and the color adds a great pop to the wood.
When I do woodburning that will touch food, I finish them with a good rubbing of mineral oil.
