I don’t own a serger, just used my normal sewing machine.
I’ve been scared away from trying to sew clothing because I thought all clothing had to be served. Maybe I should try making some.

What sort of seam finish do you use @Cindy? Do you pink the edges, zigzag, or leave them as-is?
My machine has an overcast stitch that I use now. When I sewed for my own children, on a less fancy machine, I’d zig zag the edges after I sewed the seams, except for sweatshirts/pants, then I left them raw.
