Groovy and glittery, man

I confess. I’ve always loved a lava lamp. I have a neon yellow one in the slothcave and a more sedate black with yellow goo one in the living room.

So when I found this pattern I knew I had to.

And it’s perfect for playing in the costume scrap bins for small and weird shaped glittery bits. I also used muslin from the costume bins for the glass portion. I’ll run this to the shop downtown tomorrow and see if they want more. I really hope they want more. It was so fun to do.

Groovy, indeed! How big is it?

About 12x15 inches. A great little wall hanging

Or an easy quilt top to make with such big blocks.

This is so fun! I love that it’s a way to use up little bits of fanciful fabrics and that each time you make it, they could be different. Please share them all here!

Great job! I’ve used lava lamps for years, my current one is pink.
