Group B (Bookclub) and Group C (coworkers of my husband) got the same card design this year. I made 45 of these.
It’s a vintage TV with the yule log tv program. You can put a cell phone in it to play a yule log video (with or without Christmas music), or a tealight to illuminate the fire through the vellum paper.
The envelope has a graphic that WPIX used to advertise the yule log.
I included a QR code that sends the recipient to this Youtube playlist–how to assemble the card, and links to various yule log videos to play on the cell phone.
Wow! I can’t imagine making that many cards. I’m super inefficient and each handmade card takes me 1-3 hours. That dedign and execution is so cool and what a fun idea!
Luckily I only have to come up with a couple ideas a year. I can’t imagine being a commercial card designer and having to generate dozens…hundreds…of ideas to pitch. Also, I only have to please myself!
I am just wowed by your dedication. These are SOOOOOO cool (or hot, its a fire)! I love the cell phone in it. I would have it on my desk burning away all season!
