Halloween Craftalong

I was sure we already had a Halloween Craftalong! But I’ve been searching for it and I can’t find it. So here it is.

I know it’s slightly early, but as we were discussing Christmas in July in another thread, I felt like I shouldn’t forget about Halloween.

Halloween isn’t a really big holiday here, but I like to decorate for it. In the past (highschool / college) I 'd throw Halloween parties with my (goth) friends but that tradition ended years ago. I love seeing your party preperations though!

I have been planning to make a Halloween-themed table runner for a couple of years, and I even have all the fabric picked out for it. A while back I also picked up a kit for a Halloween lap quilt. It would be great if I get at least one of them finished this year.

Oh! I do have a project that’s been on my “wanna make” list for a while that would be perfect for this -along. I’ll see if I have all the materials…

Ooooo! This will be a fun one to watch! We’ll see if I can squeeze in any projects for Halloween this year, but it’s not looking likely other than maybe some cards closer to the big day.

I cut fabric for my first Halloween project! It’s going to be a lap quilt.

What a great project! Love this. The vintage design is just perfect. Beautifully done.

How are you going with your Halloween quilt?

Does it count that I put all of the fabric in a project bag?

This year I opted not to have a party. Last year was an emotional disaster for me.
I have a small bin of WIPs for Halloween. I do have a cross stitch to finish for my friend. Maybe then I can work on some of the pastel Halloween decorations for my bathroom. I wanted something different for the guest bathroom as a kind of respite from the black and orange explosion

I love Halloween, but im not a huge orange fan. I have to get create sometimes.
I got this fabric collection from Dear Stella, with an additional blue fabric, that i plan to make a Halloween throw quilt for myself this year. It has orange, but its not overpowering.

I’m working on some things for “Summerween” right now.

I also did a Halloween swap on Facebook and made these (sorry for the weird tumbler pics it’s from a video)

The yellow in the background for the ghost reminds me of an old-fashioned lemonade stand.
Just the other day I stopped for lemonade that kids were selling at the entrance to my neighborhood. They picked a great spot in the shade, but I absolutely could not read their signs because they were yellow highlighter on white paper. I had my son give them extra money and as we were driving away I tasted the lemonade. It’s a mystery flavor! We think it may have been weak lemonish gatorade. I didn’t drink all of it because I wanted my husband to try it. He insisted it was going to be Country Time, but I also insisted it was not because I drank a ton of that as a kid. He finally tasted it and said “Huh.” Pretty sure it wasn’t lemonade… no idea what it actually was! Oh well, my son got a cookie, the ladies got some cash, and I have a story of the mystery drink!

Great fabrics! They’re going to look good together.

(And, if you don’t like orange, I’ve bought a few things from this woman, and she has some great pastel Halloween designs. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1541422930/halloween-junk-journal-cats-pastel?click_key=e1c4405f75b141746dca2c044050775aaf1e0b29%3A1541422930&click_sum=b9fa2c6e&ref=shop_home_active_14&pro=1 )

Today has been a fairly cool day and I’ve been wanting to get started on piecing my Halloween quilt! I’ve got a swap project that I want to finish first but I might spend some time piecing later today. It’s a super simple pattern so an hour behind the sewing machine means I might finish half of the blocks.

Ooh. I can’t wait to see it. I am planning a Halloween quilt, too. I am hoping to start in September. What fabrics are you using? I got some Dear Stella Boo! Last year for my birthday to make a quilt with. I am taking it down to the wire to get it done! I am such a slow quilter!!!

It’s this fabric @gozer Boo Y’all by 3 wishes fabrics. I’m also a super slow quilter because I do a lot by hand. It’s a lap quilt so it’s not huge, I’m hoping to machine quilt it.

Due to life stuff I haven’t decorated for Halloween for a few years but I’ve already announced to Mr. Imma this year will be different.
