I love owls! This one looks like it can be displayed all year!
It’s part of a set of three (owl, black cat and bat) from Waxing Moon Designs, this one is the least Halloween-ish. I might steal your idea of bunting.
I like Waxing Moon Designs, they’re a bit like Prairie Schooler but with more colour - simple shapes and only a few colours in each design. Easy relaxing sofa stitches, you can’t do much wrong.
My little squirrel is a Waxing Moon Design! I have quite a few of them because they are a fast and simple stitch but so cute!
Turned out nicely! That little spider is a surprise!
It’s officially fall! To me that means slowly decorating for fall, and getting rid of the summer stuff. We carried the outdoor furniture to the attic yesterday. The weather is still relatively warm so I’ve not put away the summer clothes, but it won’t be long now.
I wrote “fall” because most people here are from across the Atlantic , but I have several British friends who are very attached to calling this season autumn. In my own language, we use a completely different word - herfst - which comes from the word “harvest “. I did some googling and it seems in continental Europe, half of the countries use words based on “autumn” (which comes from Latin, and is likely originally Eutruskian - the guys who lived in Italy before they became Romans) and the other half use words based on “harvest”. It seems “fall” is a 16th century word that originated in England. Colonists took it with them to the New World and it died out in England.
I have nearly completed my second piece of stitching! I had forgotten my thread was overdyed, and stitched late at night in a dimly lit space. I would have stitched it differently, but it’s ok. Nobody but me would probably notice.
I want to hang my fall wreath and plant the mums I got over a week ago in my front planters. I have to wait until after this week as they will be working on my front porch starting tomorrow. I have to move everything to the back so I can at least plant the flowers.
I have some pumpkins out. I think the only other thing I am going to do is switch out a spring flower arrangement I have in the entry way with a fall one. I was at Michaels and saw some pretty fun dried flowers.
So much to do before winter gets here again.
If you’re feeling a need for a tiny & potentially seasonal swap, Ongoing ATCs will be back for October:
Whoo Hoo!! I need some inspiration for drawing!
It’s a shame I can heart them only once. All of them are amazing
what’s nr. 1 made of? I think the others are clay and the last one is a drawing right?
Thanks so much!
The first one is a fabric tray.
I am in love with your quilt! The colours are so complimentry ![]()
In that case you’ve found some amazing fabric!! Small trays like that are perfect to keep near a sewing machine for clips, bobbins, spools of thread and the like.
Mr Imma is leaving for some time in a couple of days and while I’m not looking forward to it that much (he’s been away a lot lately) I am ready to get started on Halloween decorations while he’s not here!
Nice assortment of Halloweeny things! I just think the pumpkin head pegs are the best!
Turned my stitch into a candle wrap. Bought a prayer candle at Dollar Tree. I probably won’t light it…cats, but a fake tea light will fit!
The candle is the perfect fit! It shows off the design so well. Its like you made it gor the candle! I love it!
Thanks! I have so many bookmarks already. The candlelight glows through the white stripes at night, so that is cool. I’ll probably put it on the foyer table for trick or treat night. I am sure my brother will want it as well, so maybe I’ll give it to him. He has 13 cats now.
