Halloween Outfits

So… I may have a different outfit for every work day of October at this point. :jack_o_lantern: These are the ones I sewed (or featuring items I sewed)…

Simplicity 8445 (1950s Blouse) & Butterick 6285 (Patterns by Gertie Skirt)

If you can’t tell, I liked this fabric combo  Simplicity 1080 (Dottie Angel Dress)

Yes, I know the pattern lined up weird in the front but I made this blouse to wear under a cropped retro style sweater (and was conserving fabric; had to make it short sleeve, too)

I had to conserve fabric in the blouse above, because I had already made a smock top (I love smock tops BTW; I think this 70s fashion should make a comeback!)

This is my classic Halloween dress! The rest are recent makes, but this one I made, well, like 15 years ago now…

Oops! forgot my most recent ones!

Underdress in skull/crossbones print. Overdress with pockets!

Purple one (this is from America Made brand fabric - from growing of cotton to final product made in US, cheaper than Kona and about the same weight/quality, a sort of farm-to-table but with fabric!) with htv potions designs

Orange Halloween Overdress (again, American Made fabric) with htv designs

Anyone else have Halloween outfits for every day of October? Or another holiday? (I’m starting to build up my Christmas collection, but it’s not my favorite holiday so I only have about a week’s worth.)

How fun! You certainly have a unique wardrobe for October! I really like how you can layer pieces on top to make completely different looking outfits!

I love the last look with the orange overdress!

Your Dottie Angel dress is too cute! I love how the color blocking makes it look like a drop waist. Everything is so fun and festive!

You made yourself a wonderful collection of clothes!
And they look very well made.
I like your ‘old’ classic Halloween dress the most.

What a fun October you must have! And your coworkers must get some cheer from having you around. I hope you post your Christmas outfits, too!

These are all great! (I think I have the simplicity pattern from the second one sitting around waiting for me to do something with it…)

The Dottie Angel dress was/is a staple for me. It’s such a quick dress to throw together, and with a stash of quilters’ cottons, it’s fun to mix and match! And they’re super comfortable and light for the summer!

Tip for this pattern: The placement of the ties was way too high for me. I’d say if you’re anything over a B cup, you’ll have to place them much lower to hit anywhere near your natural waist.

Those are all fabulous and such a fun look.

Hm, yeah I had a similar tie problem with another pattern of about the same era (having underbust ties hit right at the bust point is somehow less flattering…); thanks for the heads-up.

All of these outfits are amazing. I love the idea of an overdress so you can switch it up.
